ISIBANI SEASON 3 SOCIAL COHESSION PODCAST
Last year we had an opportunity to collaborate with Uthingo network and we produced a 3 part podcast on Social Cohesion. Social cohesion is one of the most fundamental policy challenges facing South Africa today. Since 1994, South Africa has sought to create a socially cohesive society out of its fragmented past in line with its national mission of promoting unity in diversity and developing a shared value system based on the spirit of community solidarity and a caring society. However, despite numerous government and civil society interventions, South Africa has yet to emerge as a socially cohesive nation.
These podcasts aimed to strengthen and deepen social cohesion within the community of Pietermaritzburg across all diverse groups, encompassing all individual citizens, regardless of their cultures, races, sexual orientations, and gender identities and expressions, to achieve the common good.
